Charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of public donations directly fund water projects. This year's New York City gala hosted by actress Jessica Biel and filmmaker Tyler Perry, was the biggest ever and raised $2.7 million in a single night.
The event featured a Live Auction,
the "Waterwalk" where guests slip off their heels and try lugging two five-gallon containers (40 lbs. each) to give them a taste of what it's like for millions of people around the world who spend hours walking for water each day, magnificent art displays, and a special tribute to nine-year old Rachel Beckwith.
